Founder, J Andrews Marketing
Julia began her career in the Boston area, working in event management and public relations in the high tech sector. In those early days, she had some exciting opportunities, things like doing crowd control for the Bill Gates keynote address at the largest trade show in the US and helping product reviewers understand how the very first virtual private network hardware worked.
As her career grew, she decided to take a complete left-hand turn — a move to Vermont. As for many before her, the 70 hour weeks and grinding traffic lost their appeal. Ironically, this move to 'slow things down' included going to work in the high-tech industry again, in Burlington.
Before long, Julia landed broader marketing roles, taking on advertising, the web, and other new challenges. She found herself spending nearly a decade working in telecommunications companies, where the products are complex and ever-changing, and marketing needs to include such complexities as national call centers and retail strategies.
All of this led to a place where, in 2010, Julia struck out on her own to found J Andrews Marketing. Today, she takes on marketing challenges on behalf of her clients, which include the Vermont Agency of Transportation, Waitsfield & Champlain Valley Telecom, Front Porch Forum, and more.
